Choose “HAPPINESS, SATISFACTION, CONTENTEDNESS”

It’s hard to believe that these days we must actually “schedule” time for ourselves in our day planners.  How did we let ourselves get to this point?

For many years Bonnie Ware worked in palliative care.  In conversations with people faced with their own mortality she learned that these are the five most common regrets:

1. I wish I'd had the courage to live a life true to myself, not the life others expected of me.

2. I wish I didn't work so hard.

3. I wish I'd had the courage to express my feelings.

4. I wish I had stayed in touch with my friends.

5. I wish that I had let myself be happier.

Two years ago I would have to admit that I was living with all five regrets.  Luckily for me in 2009 I came to the proverbial “FORK IN THE ROAD” and I chose to significantly change my life’s path. I now strive to make conscious, wise and honest choices that will lead me towards happiness, satisfaction and contentedness.  I’ll admit I’m still having trouble with #2 and #5 but I’m working on it!

I’ll leave you with this quote from Ms. Ware’s article,  “Life is a choice. It is YOUR life. Choose consciously, choose wisely, choose honestly. Choose happiness.”

SAG&AFTRA cards in hand, full tank of gas and in very high spirits!

It’s hard to believe that YEAR 1 of my journey to become a working actor has come to an end.  I started my journey in January 2011, SAG AND AFTRA cards in hand, full tank of gas and in very high spirits!  Seventeen years outside of the industry had passed so I really had no clue as to how difficult, fun, exasperating, exciting, challenging, expensive, overwhelming and life-altering an experience this would be.  WOW, it has been quite a year!

My 2011 (goals): discovery, classes, equipment & tools, study, reconnecting, and developing new relationships.

As I was lying in bed this morning I thought how do I credit those that were so influential and helpful?  Apologies to anyone I may have inadvertently left off the credits! Then it came to me……… display it like CREDITS rolling at the end of a movie!

A RISING STAR!

EXTRA!  EXTRA!
I've now seen Jessica Chastain in several different movies and she's one actor to watch!  Her range, depth of character and ear for accents/dialects put her on my "A-LIST!"

Meryl Streep is OUTSTANDING in the "IRON LADY!"

FROM THE STALLS
 (19 January 2012)

MOVIE: “The Iron Lady”
RATING: 5 (out of 5) STARS!

NO SPOILER ALERT necessary - I’ll just say that Ms. Streep’s performance is outstanding.  Equally impressive were ALL the supporting cast members with a special shout out to Mr. Broadbent.  From the actor’s point of view – I HIGHLY RECOMMEND IT!
